Roger Sperberg first noticed it, and I don’t know how long it’s been going on; but check out this column by Maureen Dowd in the New York Times. Ordinary enough, but scroll down and look closer: it has a couple of hyperlinks. One is to another NYT story, but another’s to a piece over at the Washington Post. I wonder who put them in, Ms Dowd or the editorial staff? I wonder if there’s a policy for what can be linked to and what must be linked to? I wonder if the links are stable or will vanish behind a paywall?
