Item: Companies don’t hire people. People hire people.

Item: Practically speaking, a conference, for example the FOWA event that launched this series, is a good networking opportunity. Any two people attending obviously have something important in common; the evidence is that they’re there.

Item: Networking among strangers makes some of us nervous. So ask a question and listen. Then ask another. The person who listens the most wins.
